50 hp merc Help

Just got a 50hp merc was wondering where i would find the sin number on it thx if anyone could help that would be great trying to find out what year it is and even went out and got a manual for all merc but don't tell me in there where the sin number is.think the sin number is 55464

Should be marked on a tag that is on the transom mount. Look near where the mount goes up over the top of the transom between the transom clamp bolts facing forward.

thx i im not sure but i found a number 1440-3255 but not sure if thats it
