The timing on these motors rarely goes out of adjustment.---Well a sheared flywheel key throws timing out.----And no you can not find a sheared key condition with a timing light.---Well , at least not on most motors.
Yeah I hear you. Key is definitely not sheared. I did have to replace my trigger recently so I wanted to be sure I was still firing right. So far, at WOT and cranking speed, the 28 mark lines up with my timing mark.

Okey, if you have the timing advance at 28 drg BTDC at cranking speed, then you are on track.

Sorry I forgot to update this thread but the boat is idling fine now, thanks to everyone's help. May still need some final tuning and trim adjustments, but I'm also being a perfectionist.
