Re: 50 hp force no spark...

If it's the original style flywheel, they should be 1/4" bolt, 20 pitch thread. Later flywheels....I believe around 1991 or 1992ish they changed to 5/16" bolt, 18 pitch thread.

Thanks for the help. I got the flywheel off. Just waiting for the stator to come in the mail. Is there anything else i should be aware of when i replace the stator?

DO NOT!!! use a puller that is going to grab the flywheel teeth.Use the bolt holes at the top of the flywheel

WHY???? You emphatically say don't do something and then no reason???
I've been using a 3 jaw puller since 1985. That's the way the factory guys showed us how to do it.
The reasoning the 1/4-20 strips out too easy.

Ok i got the stator in and installed it. But still no spark... I tested the new stator and it is good. The old one was bad but what else could be my problem?

Re: 50 hp force no spark...

I would suspect that the CD Module itself is also bad.

Here is a place that I've used in the past. Very reasonable. Brand new modules and they're cheaper than what a lot of folks are asking for used ones.

Force Outboard Power Module 92 5104 | eBay

I also wanted to mention that there is a flexible strip magnet epoxied to the inner circumference of the flywheel. Make sure it's there and all in one piece.

Hope this gets you going or we'll have to send jerryjerry05 down there! LOL! Just kidding...

Re: 50 hp force no spark...

You can check the output voltage of the CD Module with a DVA adapter and a meter.( ESI 640 Electronic Specialties 640 DVA Adapter). Disconnect the wire that goes from the CD Module to #1 coil. It's the Orange or Blue/Orange wire with the little black barrel connector. While cranking the engine, the CD Module should be putting out at least 180 volts on this wire. Actually some manuals say at least 210 volts, so if it's in the neighborhood of 180-210, you should be OK. If it's less than that, or intermittent, replace the CD Module.

NOTE: You can also check the output of the stator with the DVA. It should also be in the neighborhood of 180 volts while cranking.
