hello everyone.
newer boat owners here, with a potentially big problem. we have a 97 glastron gs 205 with a volvo penta 5.6. we brought the boat our of hibernation this weekend and noticed water coming out of the plug hole.
hubby took the boat to his shop and attached the muffs and realized that the water is coming from the rear of the motor. he doesn't believe it is a cracked block. our boat guy tried to diagnose over the phone and believes is coming from the power steering cooler. hubby did his diagnostic advice, but we wanted to post here for help.
problem is that husband can't find a picture of the power steering cooler as it is attached to the motor, just a diagram from the volvo website. anyone familiar with this problem and ideas on what you have done to deal with it?
also, he thinks it has had the problem for awhile. we spent a lot of time on the boat before we purchased last year and the bilge pump (hope that's the right term) ran every 20 or 30 minutes or so. other than that the boat has been a jewel.....
any advice or common experiences will be greatly appreciated.
