Hi All
Having a problem with my boat hope to get some help . 5.7 mercruiser just replaced the impeller now under way temp climbs shut it down at 210 , checked manifold risers are clear . I did notice the hose from the transom is cold from lake water but on the other side of power steering cooler is hot to touch , also removed broke fins from impeller out of the pump housing below the plate. I was thinking that there might be a screen in the pwr steering cooler ?

There isn't a screen, but you may have a tube bundle cooler that is plugged up. Pull it off and look.

Ok rechecked all the risers are clear put it all back together flushed all lines started it up on the muffs went up to 160 just need to go to the lake and run it at high speed to see if it runs hot .

sometimes pices of rubber make it upto and around the smaller pipes near thermostat.was the impellor you removed missing bits and if so you'll have to find any larger pieces that would not get past the thermostat.

Yeah there was three fins missing of the impeller but i pulled rubber pieces out of the lower housing when i had it apart we will test it see what happens every thing else looks good.

Re: 5.7 getting hot

unless you found all the parts that are missing i would pull the drive and at least every pipe and the thermostat housing as those pieces are in your galleries somewhere and could cause a major overheat and possibly a seizure.sometimes the're found in the galleries which involves removing the heads too but this would be a minimum cost compared to a new lump.
may well be up the water pipe that runs above your gimbal bearing.best to remove if your still having temp issues and always run on muffs.could also pull the pipe which runs from transom on the other side to engine and check its clear too.
