5.7 alpha knock please listen

Well I pulled the engine removed oil pan and as far as I can tell all the rods are tight wrist pins on pistons seam tight oil looked good cut open oil filter no metal oil pressure was good spark plugs all looked the same a little wet fouled smelled like fuel. but I have a rebuilt 2piece rear main seal engine sitting on a stand waiting. it only needs a coupler and intake but thinking the engine I removed (2011 vortec 357 merc) could still be good is driving me nutts I’m considering reinstalling and trying harder to diagnose a lean/or ignition problem

I pulled oil pan and all looked good was about to reinstall and chase an ignition problem I wanted to do a compression test first it failed miserably 180 -160 on outside 4 cylinders and 25-50 on inside 4 nbd I have a pre 86 350 rebuilt sitting here that was my original plan going to move forward thanks all
