I have a 2005 stingray 200lx with a 5.0l mercy alpha 2. I purchased this boat two years ago from a dealer who had it on consignment. I purchased this boat with 210 hours on it and I've got about 430 hours on it now. The boat operates completely fine under 3500 rpm, once I start to exceed that the boat will almost always chirp twice at me. Sometimes the guardian mode will activate and restrict my rpms so I can't increase them past 3500, but sometimes it will let me exceed that point but still intermittently chirp twice. All fluid levels are fine, oil pressure and engine temps seem good. I have replaced the distributor cap, plugs, wires, and knock sensor so far. I've had mechanic look at it and scan it while it chimes and he couldn't see it throwing any codes. He suggested maybe replacing the entire ecu but I feel like there are some other things I should rule out before doing that.
