Howdy again,

Thanks for the feedback on the fuel in the oil issue - Not having much luck figuring this one out but I'll keep checking.

I'm definately stumped on the over heating issue with my 5.0 GL-D. I've changed the impeller - old one was fine though. I've changed the thermostat also (replaced with factory 160 degree). Boats runs great up to 3500 RPM. Temp stays right around 160 +/- a couple grees each direction. The thermostat appears to be working normally. When I get aboce 3500 RPM's (closer to 4000), it starts to overheat. If I keep running at 4000 the temp keeps rising and eventually gets up to the warning. Once I bring the RPM's back to 3500 or below, the temp goes comes back and once again stabilizes at 160.

Any ideas? Thanks again for all the advice.

It's a 2004 Starcraft Aurora 2210 boat, with stock Volvo Penta 5.0 GL-D engine and volvo penta out drive. I'll have to check and get back to you on the out drive specs though.

Salt water boat? If so, pull the riser to see what the water passages look like. Check the outlet of the thermostat housing to make sure its passages to the manifold are also clear.
