Re: 4th of july

Where is everyone taking their boats to watch fireworks on the fourth of July?

Not sure if there is places in AZ to Watch Fireworks from the Water. So the boat will be sitting in the drive way as my wife and I sit in it while the kids run around with Sparklers.

We dock our 46" trawler on the St. Johns RIver, near DeLand, Florida. If all goes right we are going to head for Jacksonville to watch the fireworks in the harbor. They have a spectacular display. Then if it looks like the last shuttle will launch on the 8th we will cruise down the ICW to the Cape.

Greers Ferry. The local radio station does a live remote and broadcasts music coreographed to the fireworks. Burgers and dogs on the grill and family close at hand. Lots of fun.

Sitting on the flybridge tied to my slip in Havre de Grace, Md.
They launch the fireworks from an island literally 300 yards away.
PERFECT.

A couple years ago we went out on Lake Union in Seattle to watch the fireworks on our 28' boat. That was and will be the last time i do that. during the show it's ok...but after you'd better look out if you need to get back into lake washington. 1000's of boats going through the montlake cut is no fun especially when you have a lot of drunk skippers trying to blow by everybody. We'll be renting a cabin in the woods with no fireworks.....just family and a good bbq.

Canada.

No real fireworks but it is a tad less crowded than our local NY lakes that weekend!

Tied to my slip on 7/3 at the mouth of the Oneida River for the Brewerton Fireworks, right across the river from my slip. On the 4th, about the middle of Oneida Lake to catch the show from Sylvan Beach.

I will be at Bull Shoals Lake for the long weekend. I think a different marina will have fireworks each night, should be a blast (literally)

I wouldn't recommend any of you go to Bull Shoals though, it's always WAY overcrowded and the dirtiest water you'll find anywhere in the country... ;)
