Just got one and there was no gear oil. It was packed with marine grease. Is that how it is supposed to be? Is is alright to repack and run it that way? jbeamo@comcast.net thanks jim
No, it's ment to be packed with oil. Pick up a lower unit seal kit and a manual, and clean it up and fix it up. Easy to do and it's worth it since that's probably the best small hp engine ever built!<br /><br />PS - proper lube is SAE 90 weight outboard gearcase lube. Factory stuff is OMC/BRP 'HiVis'.
