470 Shift interuptor problem ???

Hello all

My shift interuptor, is there a fail safe way of setting it up.

From forward to out of gear is fine, seems to work perfect no problem.

From reverse to out of gear sometimes it works and some times it just cuts the engine completly.

Any advise would be greatfully received.

When a steering, throttle or shift cable goes bad it is not unusual to have a lot more friction in one direction than the other. I would check the shift cables. It is the friction and load on the prop that opens the switch.

Those are the Classic symptoms of a Failed lower shift cable...

Welcome.. Any idea old is the lower shift cable from the shift plate to the drive?
