454 7.4L mystery fasteners on back of engine block

What is this? and is it supposed to be sticking up like that? I cannot tighten it down,

Yes, due to the spacer

If it's tight, it's tight

You should tie the sender wires out of the way as not to interfere with the steering actuator nor rub on the coupler

Those rear mounts look like the bushings collapsed

How often or when is one supposed to do the alignment check? What are the symptoms of mis-alignment? The bushings I see around the bolts are standing up, not collapsed. Sorry I dont see whay bushings you refer to.

Per the manual you pull the drive every 50 hours or annually to check alignment, gimbal bearing, U-joints, bellows, etc
