40hp seahorse won't start

40hp just had in shop got new starter ,coils ,cylinoid, done ran good for 2 hrs and then quit , it started to sputter when idle down the whole motor would shake then quit , i'm guessing it could be the carbs? it turns over theres spark but won't start . frank d

what year? did it run hot? check carbs, fuel pump, water in gas. what do the plugs look like?
