Hello! Bought me a motor project.
A 40hp mercury 2-stroke 2005 mod ELPTO.
After getting the bent shift shaft loosened, both upper and lower shift shaft were bent, so had to cut the union nut. See pictures.
But the entire engine mount is bent, does anyone have an idea of what might be bent? Is it the bolts for the upper motor mount possibly bent?
Can you just forcefully try to bend the whole section back and get new lower engine mounts, or do you have to get rid of the powerhead and loosen everything in the midsection. (Old lower motor mount was broken).
