Currently I have a 2003 25 hp mercury 2-stroke remote steer on my boat. I want to upgrade to a 40 hp. I am having trouble finding a used 40 hp remote steer. I can find lots of tiller steering motors. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is a simple switch. I would like to buy a tiller steer and switch the tiller handle over to the 25hp and use my current remote controls to steer my new 40 hp.
Is this worth doing or should I keep looking for a remote steering 40 hp?
