Does anyone know a quick and easy way to check to stator on a 1995 force 40hp? I have narrowed it down to this and am slightly lost now, thanks in advance.

Re: 40 hp stator check

If i still had the manual, I could help you. But go to the library and see if you can pull-up the color code on the windings of the stator, and do an ohms test. It's not the best, but it's good for go/no-go testing. Other than that, you'll need the manual and a peak-reading volt meter.
I think it is suposed to fall within the 400-600Volts range.

Well it turned out to be the stator adaptor, better a $100 part rather than $400 for a new stator.
