40 hp parts work in a 35 hp motor 1979

Does anybody know if 40 hp parts work in 35 hp Johnson motors. Both are 1979

The 35 is 35EL79A

Is the 40 a commercial model? If it is, I don't have any info on it, but my gut feeling is it is a totally different motor.
