40 hp Johnson

Hi, I've just purchased a boat equipped with a 40 hp Johnson (white). I didn't get too far with the previous owner. I need to know the year of the engine and the only numbers on the transom mount bracket are 109331 (or 109831) and 11F01. I think there may have been a plate where there are now two small holes along the transom mount. No other numbers are evident. Any asisstance would be appreciated. Many Thanks, King Tut.

Look around the powerhead for a round aluminium plug. We need the model number. What you have is the serial number.<br />Model number 40EL74 is a Johnson 40 HP electric long shaft 1974, and 40TELCR is a 1984. Just for you to see what you should be looking for.<br /><br />Good luck!
