40 hp force plugs fouling!

I've tried different plugs and the surface gaps are the worst ....Wont even start. But with a regular plug it does.. The plugs foul up all the time and the mixture is 50 to 1 .. 2 minutes at idle and the plugs are fouled .. then it wont start until i clean the plugs what should i do next...???? The motor is a 1995 40 hp force...

Sure must be running awful rich.<br />Someone tinkered with the carbs, or the fuel pump is leaking into the block.<br /><br />Get a rebuild kit for the carb and for the fuel pump, from any Merc dealer. Disassemble and clean carb, set back to factory settings. Install a new fuel pump diaphram. <br /><br />Then with those 2 items taken care of, see if you still have the problem.
