40 hp Bass Tracker for 9.9 hp Restriction Lake

I have a Bass Tracker with a 40 hp outboard on it.We are planning on going to a couple of 9.9 hp restricted lakes for trout.Can I take my boat without taking my motor off.I will only use the trolling motor.I have checked it out through Game & Fish but they just say 9.9 limit,Not if I have to remove my motor before useing it.Any help will be appreciated,thanks

every lake and state is different, some say remove the prop, so say remove the motor.

Ya, all the horse power limit lakes here you just take the prop off and run the troller, no problem.

Thanks,off the prop goes,lol.I will let you know if it the same here in Arizona
