40 E-tec Bent Prop Shaft

I have 2006 40hp e-tec and I have bent the prop shaft, also looks like the spline is twisted so I will need to buy a new one. I was thinking of replacing it myself......any thoughts ?

you can buy a new one now, or even more parts later, if you run a bent shaft.

Well I know I need to by a new one there is no question....However any thoughts about taking this project on my-self?

Also the shafts I have priced out are around 450.00 is that about right.

Any thoughts would be great .

Whether it is a do it yourself kind of depends on how it got bent, and what the likelihood is that there is more damage inside. Mechanically it's not that difficult.
