4.5hp evinrude kicking out of water in reverse

So I have a small 4.5hp evinrude with a tail from a different outboard but same model of tail because the old one was broken, and theres a knob on it for changing it to tilt or run mode, it doesnt do anything and when i tried my outboard on my boat with it on run (like it should be) it kicked out of the water in reverse, is my tilt trim broken?

are you sure? i didnt have a pin on the old tail and this tail

holes are for the tilt adjust bar and... reverse lock....

pushing the lock lever hooks into the tilt adjust bar....check parts listing for your engine !

What is the model # of the motor.-----And yes there is supposed to be a pin in one of those 4 holes.----Goes from one side to the other.----Part # is 0432453 all day long.
