4.3L Mercruiser

I just purchased a 1999 runabout with a 1999 4.3L mercruiser. The seller told me that he installed a fuel pressure regulator because the carb was getting too much fuel. I haven't check the fuel pump to ensure that the correct pump for this model is installed yet but I was wondering if someone can tell me what the proper fuel PSI is for this particular engine? Thanks.

Ayuh,... If the motor is Carbed, 'n has the right fuelpump, No regulator is needed...

4 to 6psi...
