when throttling up after a long period of idling my motor wants to stall, like it's getting too much air,and not enough fuel. What could be my problem? after i get it to rev once it's fine till it idles for a while again. Maybe water in the gas? seperator?

Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem you describe. I am thinking the carb needs to be rebuilt either it is gummed up or the floats are sticking. Let me know what you find out.

Just for fun...let your engine idle a long time and then pull your plugs. They are probably very black because you are idling on the rich side.

What year engine are we talking about? Has the carb ever been rebuilt? Sounds like trash in the carb.

The boat is an 86, i've on;y had it a month,The motor looks newer, but i'm not sure. I am pretty good with carbs. i'll take it apart, clean it, and check everything. I will report with progress. I don't know if it's running rich, it's not acting like it. If anything, it's acting like it's running lean.

When I say it is running rich, I mean it is running rich at idle and loads up the motor.

Yea, it may be doing that. The first time i took it out it was idling at 1100 rpms, and iit was fine, but i know it's only supposed to idle at 7-800. so i lowered it and now it's doing it.
