Not sure if you are saying my comment was ridiculous or GM putting two types of fasteners on same block...
No, not your comment, GM. I almost stripped out the bolts before I realized what was going on. My local old school hardware store closed about 5 years ago and was replaced by whole foods 😥

Yeah whole foods doesnt have much a a metric bolt selection…

i never could get an explanation for why GM did the mix and match on same block.

You have much exposure to the A-body/G-body years (1978-1987) commonly known as the GM metric chassis.....did you......... every other year would have something else that was metric that wasnt

Some of the worst cars GM made especially the cheap interiors. My brother had a 80 malibu/229 V6...

Still doesnt explain why 30 years (090M block is late 90's early 2k's) later they can't make up their mind with a jackalope metric/sae block.

that's why I like the old pre-Vortec
all SAE fittings
mechanical fuel pump 100% reliable
no leak prone intake gaskets, they never leak on these
yeah 25 hp less, but doesn't bother me
