4.3 mercruiser water inlet tube replacement

Trying to replace water inlet tube on 1991 mercruiser on Monterey 189SCR.
I have the 2 bolts out and cap off but can't get tube or bushing to release. I assume it has to pull to left to come out because of the turn on the end of tube. But it won't budge. Do I have to get bushing out first? If so, how do I do that?

I`ll assume the drive and housing components are removed and the water hose removed.Then remove the 2 bolts remove bushing, twist and remove inlet tube

No I'm trying do it without removing all of that. The hose is off tube, 2 bokts out, and the plate they held on is off. An old thread said that wasn't necessary to remove drive

the hose is clamped on the outside and held captive by a rubber ring and 2 bolts

This looks like great info but having some trouble following. What hinge pins? Is there a link to where I can get complete drawings.
