Jason mentioned the correct plug several posts ago - you should not have vortec heads, in '96 that would have been designated by "Gen+"
Gap is .040 and with the LX you SHOULD have a TBIV ignition so base timing would be 8* BTDC
Stop worrying about premium fuel, you need to fix the problem.
Are only three plug burnt, or did you only check three?
If only three are burnt, are they on the same side?
Were the heads milled any?
...does anyone have an idea on a good plug to use and should a good plug and 93 octane solve my problem
