looking for help. I am looking to purchase a boat (inexpensive). Problem I have to test motor is that the 90 degree drain valves in the exhaust manifold froze and broke right at the surface of the manifold. In other words the threads of the 90 degree drain are still in the manifold.

Without tearing the whole manifold out to access these threads, looking to this group for recommendations.

I have ordered some 3/4 inch pipe easy outs to see if that would work. But are there any other tricks to consider vs using a hacksaw blade for 30 minutes in a 2x2 space?

Just pressure test the block (and heads).

Hmmmm. It is a $2000 boat. Trying to do the shady tree diy thing. Replace what I know is broken for $15. Then power it up to see if there are any other leaks or water in the oil.

On muffs there will be very little if any pressure. Go to hardware store and pick up a hand full of rubber or wood plugs and a roll of electrical tape. Push the plugs into the manifold elbows and if need be wrap so tape around them.

Put muffs on a fire it up. Once its running the guy your buying it from may decide its worth more

“IF” (notice that is BIG) it is only the 90’s drain there is no work to do. Everything else is in good shape. I will flip it for couple thousand profit. If problems, it stays with the buyer. No risk here.
