Hello:

I have a requirement for to cover a small hole in the battery compartment on my boat. I am planning on using some plastic plating (1/16" PVC?) that I have left over from a home repair job. I am not concerned about the plastic, but I am wondering about how to secure it. I am thinking 5200 or 4200, but I have not ever used either of these. Are they similar to a silicon caulk in as far as how they go on?

Yes similar,4200 dries where it could be removed if needed,5200 dries as a permanent sealer.Either would work fine but 4200 is more for bolts and hardware that goes through the transom.
