Hello, I am filling some small screw holes in the deck of my Boston Whaler using 3M 5200 (regular cure time) adhesive.
I know that is has a 7 day cure time, 48 hours until tack free, but could I use the boat (and expose the product to water) after only 3 days?

I would say yes as long as you are careful to not abrade the areas on anything. It's pretty tough stuff.

Re: 3M 5200 question

5200 is messy as 'ell, so I wouldn't be walking around it until it's cured. BUT,,, 5200 is moisture cured, so put something moist next to it and cover it up (bowl, cup) to hold in the moisture. I've cured 5200 in 1 day doing this, and it was a thick layer of 5200.

+1 on 5200 being messy stuff! Excellent product to use just keep some acetone or something handy to clean up any excess.

You can use the boat whenever you want to :) ..

Just dont step in it LOL ..

Oh..and mineral spirits would be the clean-up agent best used ;) ..

In Okie Land I get it at Lowe's, Home Depot, West Marine, Bass Pro or Ace Hardware. Heck, even some WalMarts have it.
