3M 5200 Question

Do you guys think that 3M 5200 will hold a large patch (approx. 12" x 14") onto the exterior surface of an aluminum transom below the waterline without any fasteners? Okay, maybe three or four bolts going through transom. If so, should the patch be clamped in some fashion or will 3M 5200 hold it's own?

Ayuh,... While 5200 is some danm sticky stuff,...
It Ain't a construction Adhesive, it's a bedding compound to be used as caulking...

I wouldn't use it Without fasteners...
