I replaced the transom boot for my cruiser 2 - 3 years ago and after searching the net, I used what was recommended: 3M 5200. I have now heard that 5200 is permanent and that I should have used 3M 4200.

Does anyone have experience removing 3M 5200?

It can be removed, but it is pretty tough stuff. 3M sells a remover for it.
