I have a 383 stroker in our boat. It just started leaking oil the other day. Upon inspecting the engine, I noticed oil between one of the heads and the block--atleast there was just a small amount of oil where the head gasket is. I ran my finger down to the oil filter, which had a little oil on it as well. No drop in oil pressure.

Other than that, it was not enough to substantiate the leak, which looked like about 1/4 of a quart.

**UPDATED: I noticed a little oil leakage under the valve covers and noticed one of the bolts was loose--imagine that. I'm going to torque them down and go from there.

I have summit racing aluminum heads and weiland intake on the motor as well. Any suggestions would be great--the more specific, the better. I am not familiar with this engine. Thanks a million. Could it be oil from one of the trim lines, and as the boat is moving, the oil gets on the lower parts of the motor? Clueless here........

Check the crankcase venyilation sys., also I have had to check the int maniflod fit when using aftermarket heads and int , some manifolds will hit the top of block and cause a wider gap than a stock gasket can seal on the heads, there is a thicker gasket for this prob., or mill manlfold, it should not leak that oil much but check gasket on the dist base.
