Long story short removed inlet manifold to fix oil leak & cleaned injectors whilst it was out. Had a few issues getting distributor in correct alignment. Engine wouldn't start but when I put some fuel in venturi it ran for a few seconds then stopped. Realised I hadn't bled fuel rail which I did & it released some air. Now I can't get it to start even with 'start you bastard'. I then noticed IAC muffler was missing & using camera I can see it has been ingested into number 1 cyl. & appears to be stopping one of the valves from closing. Judging by vapour coming out of venturi it must be inlet valve. See pic. I will go back out tomorrow with a pair of tweezers & see if I can pull it out. I remember my mechanic telling me it was common for these to be sucked into engine but not that this could happen. Any thoughts on how to get it out if tweezers fail?
