I just picked up an older aluminum boat with a 350 chev inboard and a Jaccuzi 12YJ jet drive. The previous owner had stripped out the cooling sytem and installed Glenwood aluminum manifolds with risers. As he had mostly new hoses but never installed them I am at a bit of a loss as to how to plumb it. There appears to be a hose connection on the jet. Is this the water intake for the system. There are two ports on the front of each manifold and also a port on the underside of each riser that I think is where the warm water from the engine exits thru the exhaust. Does the normal ( in a car) larger rad connections form a closed loop and then the normal heater hose connections are used for inlet and outlet?
If anyone could describe the best way to plumb this or point or send me to a diagram it would be a big help.
Also is it safe to T in a water hose to run the engine on the hard? Is it safe to run the jet like this or does it need to be submersed.
