In some respects, it is difficult because the factory did not put any timing marks on the flywheel.
So: First, pull the flywheel and adjust the points to .020 open. adjust carefully so both sets are equal because .0015 difference in gap changes timing by 1 degree.
Next, find top dead center and mark the flywheel and a convenient spot on the block. Count the number of teeth on the flywheel. 360 degrees divided by 10 equals 36. Divide the number of teeth on flywheel by ten to get how many teeth to count clockwise to get 36 degrees advance. Now that you know that, you can figure out 32 degrees.
The timing link is at the top of the linkage tower. The rod is threaded opposite on both ends so loosen the locknut on the plastic fitting and turn it. Adjust wide open throttle to 32 degrees before top dead center.
