Maybe they could make it water tight and with a prop at the back don't need to buy a boat, ready made land and water craft.

Unfortuneately it's only the equivilant of 300mpg... in other words, it uses CNG (compressed natural gas), which is almost impossible to find here in the states.

The all electric model doesn't look too bad though.

I dunno... This is a quote on the prototype: "Diesel or Gasoline? Our first prototype, the Mk-0, was a parallel hybrid Diesel and achieved an average of 230 MPG at a steady state of 55 MPH."

http://www.huliq.com/45372/aptera-type-1-electric-hybrid-car

This from another site:
"Aptera has two innovative models that are almost production-ready at $30,000 and below: for next year, the all-electric, 120-mile-range Typ-1 e that we drove; and, by 2009, the range-extended series gasoline Typ-1 h, which Aptera says will hit 300 mpg. A more conventional third model, called “Project X” or perhaps Typ-2, is now in the design phase, with plans for a four-wheeled chassis and seating up for to five passengers. "

id hate to have to swerve in that thing in a panic situation with only 2 tires, its cool though, but id take diesel over gasoline, more power potential per gal than gasoline

i cant beleive it...with all their greed...the oil companys are putting themselves outta business.....

the mother of invention is starting to stirr...and in thirty years.....a gas pump will be a thing of the past

then let them try to sell gas at 5 bucks a gallon...(canada)

But the atc's had the uni wheel in the front so you flipped when turning sharply while travelling forward. Since this has the third wheel in the back you'll only need to worry about that while accelerating in reverse.

I dunno about that. When some serious competition comes along, pretty much any one of the companies could buy it out, rebrand it, and sell it.

I don't subscribe to the theory that the oil companies are suppressing technology. (At most, they would hinder things from being found by pressuring governments, etc. from funding research.) That would mean that all the oil companies, governments, any energy companies, etc. are all in league with each other (world wide). If that's true, then there are a lot more cleverer things to do than to jack some oil prices up...
