Bought the above engine new in 2003 and it ran well untill july of last year
Suddenly engine started breaking down at about 30 % throttle - If I pushed the throttle to 80 % , it smoothed out but the rpms reved up and down somewhat - Sat at the local Merc repair shop till end of Oct when the Merc tech rep extended the warente and replaced all three carbs - Boat went back in the water this spring , ran ok for about 10 hours and reverted back to the original problem - back to the same repair facility - said it was contaminated fuel (fresh this spring ) and $580 later carbs were cleaned and tank replaced - One month and about 10 hours later same problem - Had other issues this summer and just pulled the boat - Any thoughts ? or should I just hang lemons on it and tow it around our very active boating area
