30 hp johson won't start

When I pulled a plug and grounded it out and then hauled on the rope there din't seem to be any spark. There seems to be lots of fuel getting to the motor so I'm thinking spark problems, new plugs didn't help. Any ideas what to try now:

What year is your motor?
Did ya check for spark on the other hole?

Thanks , Yep there didn,t seem to nothing on the other plug also. As for the year I don't know. That was going to be my next question

The model # is 530renr

The "5" doesn't make sense...should be a "J". The rest of the model # says it is a '92.

Could be the kill switch or wires going to it. Otherwise, you need a manual or the knowledge to check out the ignition system.
