A while back I mentioned wanting a second Bimini for the front of my 'toon, but I'm way too cheap to drop $400 for the front one. Well, here is my solution. A 9' picnic umbrella on sale at Wal Mart for 29.95. I measured 4 1/2 from where the rear bimini ended, cut a hole in the middle of the deck, inserted a sleeve and braced it from the bottom. I have 4 bungee cords a each corner 'just in case' of wind gusts.

I was going to do this on mine, i installed a table base that i was going to mount it too. Do you keep it up while underway?

I have a similar, albeit smaller/cheaper version using a large umbrella as well. Nothing fancy, but it works. I keep the umbrella rolled up and lashed to the gunnels when not in use, then insert it into a rid holder on my grab bar when I need it.

Do I keep it up underway? Not yet, been kind of windy and I'm not ready to loose or rip it yet. Will eventually just to see what will happen. Only takes a minute to unfold the umbrella. Just bought an umbrella table at Wal Mart for 10 bucks. Fits around the umbrella pole.

Hmmm.... I have a table base mounting plate in front already. This is looking like a great idea!!!
