How do I know which Mercruiser I have? I have all the serial numbers

No, you can't assume that. Look at the engine. Does it have the DDIS system or the Delco EST system on it.<br />Let me guess, you don't have Mercruiser manual #13 do you?<br /><br /> Service Manual 13

Nope don't have the manual but I do have the Seloc manual, (stinks). Service manual doesn't cover my years. 1992<br />Thanks again.

To answer the original question on whether is's an LX or not ... I believe the only significant difference would be power steering.

ihave a 1995 3.0 LX and it has no power steering i think it just became the standard 4 cyl motor at some point<br /><br />tommays

There are differences, the LX is 135HP while the L is only 115hp.<br />Different ignition systems also.<br /><br />

Don S., is there a similar site for OMC manuals (1989 4.3L cobra)? I have the Clymer manual but suspect there are times when the oem manual would be a better reference.
