ive got a 1987 sunbird with a 3.0 mercruiser that is not getting spark this year i checked coil with volt meter it was no good!!!! replaced it took off distributor cap to get to points look ok but cleaned them anyway looked like corrosion on the condensor thats my next step i no ive got power going to coil because when i turn on switch i saw a little bit of smoke coming from near points and condensor not sure why but it looks oxidized in there so im going to replace it next week to see if that cures the problem what i was wondering if anyone has a trouble shooting manuel for this issue it is a 3.0 mercruiser with points and 2 barrel carb its an 1987 model is there any other part i can check or that might cause it not to get fire im pretty sure im getting it to the coil through ignition switch, but i was looking for a fuse box but didnt find it. also i pushed reset button in back of the boat also. it is hard to tell if that was out or not but what else would you guys recommend ? please help with suggestions thatnk you
