I don't think the bowl will dry out in a few days....maybe after a few months, but not days.

I would take your boat back to the shop and have them verify they actually adjusted the accelerator pump per the specs.

Yep, thats next. Verified that.

1) What do you mean by "holding it at 2000 rpm until it smooths out?" I used to do this, thinking it was normal, but my carb was not in the best shape and I found out a whole season later that my head was slightly warped and leaking compression between cyl 2 and 3 (very slightly). The motor would actually shake side-to-side on startup unless I held it to 2000rpm or higher, until it warmed up some and would smooth out below that. In other words, sounds to me like there's an issue.

2) Do you have the green, three-holed accelerator pump actuator on your carb? If so, can you tell us which hole the linkage is connected to? While this *shouldn't* matter for pumping at startup, I'm curious where it's at.

Compression was checked to be 155 at each cylinder, so that's fine. So, when I started it pre carb build, I would give it fuel at start up, start it up an I would keep thottle at 2000 to warm it up to a smooth idle. Never had a problem until this dam carb build. I'll have to take a look at the carb this weekend to see what the linkage looks like.

So far so good. Last 2 times it's been working perfect. Thanks to everyone who helped out. Much appreciated.
