How do I adjust the carburetor to get it to run idle it seems to bring gas into the carb even when it's in neutral and off. also the choke linkage does not move unless I move it manually am I missing a link . Basically trying to get it to run smooth in idle . thank you

Howdy

Could use a bit more info.
What year is the motor?
Is the carb leaking gas down the throat when the motor is off?
If the choke linkage is sticking it needs to be freed up.

Post 2 more times and then you can upload a pic. We could use a pic of your carb.

Is there fuel in the clear sight tube? If so your fuel pump needs to be replaced.

If your trying to adjust the idle mixer screw (item 25) that is only for air fuel mixing and does not fix a leaking carb.

With the carb dripping fuel it will be time for a carb rebuild. The needle seat and valve in the carb is leaking and causing the carb to flood with fuel. This is what is causing your rough idle as well.

The choke should be closed to within 1/8 inch on the very top edge when cold, like first start in the morning. As the motor warms up it should be full open and not close again until the engine gets real cold, like over night.

Would you rebuild the carb of hire or replace it?

Sounds to me like you may not have a lot of experience with mechanical stuff. I would humbly suggest that you have a pro rebuild the carb. You could fix choke yourself with help from the forum and parts from iboats.
