I like it! Napa can get it for me by tomorrow.....for nearly $300. I'm willing to wait a few days to save that much money.

I had starter problems last year and simply had it rebuilt for about $50. Had it back a day or 2 later and it was like brand new. A lot cheaper then buying new. I think yours sounds more like its not fitting right and slipping on the teeth of the fly wheel.

I ordered one this spring. Works so far.
And it comes with bolts.
The short one is 1-11/16" and the long is 4-3/8". Strangely they have 13mm heads but are 3/8-16 threads.

Ayuh,.... That makes it Much Easier to get a socket on 'em,....

Seems like a couple washers would tell you if it was a too long bolt issue

I cheated one of these by usin' a quality flat washer, 'n a lock washer on each bolt, to make up the bolt length recently too,....

Never seen a starter that said Marine, but a lot of them say J1171 on them which is the SAE number for a marine starter

This is a marine spec. item number.
It's also on trim pumps.
Not indicative of a starter; indicative of marine spec. compliant part.
