Rodbolt, he did explain it, 2 posts before your last one.
Thats how it is normally, not now, sorry the drive goes up to the 12 degrees of trim movement not any higher when pushing the - and up at the same time.
SW
GO LOOK FOR THE FRIGGIN RELAY
For crying out loud, it did work, now it don't, and there is only one reason it won't.....The top button stopped working. Now, we don't know if it's because of the wiring, the relay, or the button pad itself is bad, but until you check something it never will get fixed.

I aint got a clue how he comes up with a degree figure with no indicator. that is the part I got confused on. seems someone is magic and can tell degrees with no indicator :) :) . happens to me all the time.
I am also starting to think streamweaver is confusing the trim motor relays with the overide relay.
that is how I got confused, but at my age confusion is a way of life not a state of mind :) .
next sunday I will be in Venezuela doin a bit o fishin and havin some fun :) .
Don
have you ever had the pleasure of working on one of these albermarles or carolina classics? most place the trim pump back aft in a wet area kinda like an after thought.
and thousands of them were rigged without all the parts to the trim system.
about the only other boat I have had the pleasure of working on that were more poorly rigged for service would be a shamrock :) :)

Re: 290 Volvo Duoprop trim/tilt problem

Rodbolt got the 12 degrees from Don's explanation of how it works and the up down relays are under the transom.I was trying to find the override relay that Don said should be under the helm. I think that my explanation was poorly stated and I am sorry for all the confusion. I will let you all know how I make out. Thanks for both Don and you for helping me out.

Don and Rodbolt traced it down to the - part of the controller was bad. Don I did find 2 relays under the helm and 2 under the transom. Thanks for all your help.
