28 SPL wiring help needed.

Ok I found this in another thread here on the forum:

Yello w/Red = Solenoid

Purple w/White stripe = Choke

Red w/Purple = Battery

2 Purple = Ignition

Black w/Yellow = Magneto

Black = Ground

My problem is that I also have a grey and a brown wire that I assume are tach and temp, can anyone shed some light on this for me plz?

I am also unsure about the magneto lead and battery lead. Which charges the battery and which supplies the power for the ignition etc? Or is the magneto lead like the field lead on an alternator and only needs to see current while starting?:facepalm:

Basically if someone could give me the above list with the brown and grey leads and where each wire should terminate I could figure out how it works from there.

Found this diagram in the same thread which tells me where the mag and batt + go but I would still like to understand what exactly is the function of the mag lead and what those other two wires are if any one would be kind enuf to fill me in.
