1989 25hp TE no VRO there is a temp. switch but the control box has been changed to a Morse Incom control. I had it open to grease things & noticed there were unattached wires ( the horn I'm guessing). There is no horn in the control box. My question, can I hook up a simple horn to it like an auto door horn or something cheap & simple. I don't want to pay $70 for a regular warning horn with low oil warnings & the others. It hasn't had any horn so anything would be better. But I don't know if its possible.

Re: 25hp warning horn missing

I found a back up light socket I had & an amber bulb. Hooked the wires up & ground the temp. sensor & it lit up. So I took it out & ran just fine wot but when I idle for 30 or so seconds the light came on, it was hot & would not run wide open. It just surges at wot I guess this what slow mode does. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=389061 this is the post where I originally posted. I had all kinds of ideas offered but no one ask about a warn horn ??????????? Well, now I found the problem but not the fix. At wot it pumps a lot of water & its warm to hot but when it idles the stream gets hot hot. Any ideas, could it just be idling to slow or a rich or lean problem ?
