New 9.9 ~ Honda or Mercury

I am looking to purchase a new outboard. Looking for a 9.9hp. It will be on a Sea Nymph (probably early '80's and around 12'). I am looking at getting either a Honda or Mercury. It will be a manual start to save on cost. I am waiting to hear from a dealer on this question, but does the Honda 9.9 Manual Start come with an alternator standard? Does the Mercury? What does everyone recommend.

I think both come with alternators standard on the new motors. If you getting a older motor with electric start they have them. Unless you have a bunch of Honda dealers in the area I would go with Merc...parts are cheaper and the dealers are everywhere.

Thanks all, ordered a 2010 Mercury 9.9 EH. Has the Electric Start and Alternator. Cheaper than the Honda was with just an alternator and no electric start.
