Basic requirement for an engine is to get gas and fire and it should run. If your fire is good, and here I mean can the spark from the wire jump 3/8 inch gap when you hold it close to the engine casting? If it is not a big BLUE healthy spark, an ignition component may be bad.<br /> If it has good spark, the carb is likely to be the problem. Check your float level (yeah, this means pulling the carb again) and make sure the jets are free of crud. Anything found lying in the bottom of the float bowl (other than clean fuel) would lead me to believe there is junk inside.<br /> You say the plugs are wet, so you know it's getting gas. If the air/fuel ratio is not correct though, all it's gonna do is wet down the piston chamber..............................piniongear

wsg - I know this seems dense but it describes your symptoms perfectly: are you certain you have the correct plug wire on the right plug?<br /><br />Piniongear has some good suggestions otherwise!

Hi<br />Piniongear has hit the nail on the head.<br />You need to strip your carb down and give it a dam good clean, I soak mine in carb cleaner over night and then use an air line to blow out all of the muck. DO NOT use anything metal to poke out the ports you can do some irepairable damage that way, also make sure you remove all gaskets and plastic bits B4 soaking.

WSG.....if you don't own one, get a service manual....OEM preferred. Listen to the advice already given. It's good stuff....right on the money. How did you set the float? Should be set level with the carb bowl gasket surface with the carb inverted.<br /><br />Check the links below for OEM manuals. Ok... thinking its the Carb now.. I finally got it to spark up but only by using a spray of gas injected straight thru the carb. Its got to be gummed up somewhere.<br /><br />Im new to this, and i do appreciate the help!!!<br /><br />Hmmm and once more..somthing i didnt know, is that the flaot had to be adjusted?? Id just replaced it and thought it was kind of a preset thing. My bad.. Ill go through it again. and try that..Heck why not get familiar if im gonna tear it down repeatedly..lol Also..the brass stem sticking through the bottom into the bowl.. Is it supposed to screw loose? I tried it but did not want to force anything not knowing. This seems to be likely since i didnt do it and it would be the path the gas takes.<br /><br /><br />Thanks a bunch Guys!!!!!<br /><br />Steve

Yeah it unscrews, but if it's stuck don't force or marr it. Just clean it really well with carb cleaner.

Make sure you blow all the orafices out with compressed air.
